In celebration of Mother Earth and Father Sky, as the native peoples say, Maxwell Edwards has made a gift to plantabillion.org to help plant trees and restore forests around the globe.
I have had a fascination with trees since I was very young. I loved the way they looked, the shade they provided, and the leaves that would gather along the curb that I would walk through on my way home from the bus stop. And I loved climbing them back in the day too!
Today, however, I prefer photographing trees. The underlying structures are often magnificent and magical. The leaves and their shapes are enchanting. And the sound of the wind and rain in and on the summertime leaf out is delightful. I try to capture these essences in my photographs.
And now the "free, special offer"...
If you make a contribution to an environmental organization in celebration of Earth Day of at least $100 — and you tell me that you did — I will print and mail one of the three photos below for you. Your print will be on high-quality photo paper printed on our Epson 3880 professional level inkjet printer. The image size will be 11 3/4-in square and ready for framing. I will sign and date the back. You don't have to tell me who you made a donation to or even the amount. I trust you. Use the contact form here on the website or send me an email. I'll get your print made and in the mail to you.
Thank you for celebrating Mother Earth and Father Sky with me this Earth Day 2014.
